The sea runs in the family
São Roque was born in 2001 from the vision of José Joaquim Santos: a place by the sea where the fish arrives fresh at the counter and is eaten with your feet in the sand. More than twenty years on, it is still a family restaurant.
Today he has handed the baton to his two sons, João and Miguel Santos, who have reinterpreted the house's best-loved dishes — typical Algarve cooking, where fish and seafood rule.
Know us from summers past? We kept what we have always done well — fish from our own coast and the beach at the door — and fine-tuned everything else. Come and rediscover São Roque.

Café · from 10am
On the boardwalk? Come in.
Running, walking or strolling with the family along Meia Praia, the boardwalk brings you right to our door. Come as you are, in trainers, with the kids or after training: sit on the terrace, catch your breath and carry on whenever you like.
The café is open all day, from 10am to 10pm. Until 12pm, while the kitchen gets ready for lunch, we serve our Morning Tide menu: omelettes and toasties, burgers in bolo do caco, bruschetta, salads and fries, homemade tarts, freshly made juices, all our coffees and a cold beer. From 12pm, the full menu.

Between Meia Praia and Lagos
On one side, the endless sand of Meia Praia. On the other, the bay, the marina and the lights of Lagos, a short walk away across the footbridge.
Come in shorts after a swim and have a late lunch. Stay for a cocktail at the end of the day. Come back for dinner as the town lights up.

Getting here
The best way in is along the beach or along the Meia Praia boardwalks. From Lagos town centre, cross the marina footbridge and head towards Estrada de São Roque. During the bathing season, you can also cross the Bensafrim river on the vai-vem ferry boat. By car, follow signs to Meia Praia / Estrada de São Roque.
